This particular work was published in 1967, putting it in the prime of pop art. It is owned by the Wichita Art Museum, and is a color silkscreen. It is 36x36 inches. "It is called "Marilyn Monroe, From the Ten Marilyns Portfolio". It fits Warhol's style because it is classic pop art. He stuck with his normal subject matter of celebrities. This work was one of many in which Warhol produced silkscreens of famous celebrities of the time. I do think it fits his philosophy, considering Monroe died in 1962. In my opinion, it all has to do with death. There is no iconography, it is simply a portrait.
