    Frank Lloyd Wright's Oak Park House is located in Oak Park, Illinois, and was the Wright family home from 1889-1909. In this fairly short time period of twenty years, Oak Park was changed many times. Here are some pictures:

    At the time this house was built, most houses were still symmetrical for the most part. Wright obliterated this idea with Oak Park, and it was a smashing sucess. One can tell that Frank's talents where not yet fully developed when comparing Oak Park with other houses built later in his career. That is not to say Oak Park is not a fantastic house in its own right, just that many elements were much more extravagant / more flattering in his later works.
